I figured this might be worth a laugh or 2. I will start with mine. I have actually managed to break 8 different bones, on different occasions, but the one that really sticks out is when I when I managed to push the bone in my right leg out through the skin. What happened was me and my friend Morris where ridding my three wheeler, a Honda 200X, back in the woods. To get to the place where everyone rides we had to ride down a long ass train track, so we would fly down it so as not to get stuck if a train where to come. This day as we where riding down we saw a big rock in the tracks right at the beginning of where we would get on the tracks at. We tried to move it but it was really fucking heavy so we said fuck it and got on the tracks a little bit farther up. So we went back in the woods and rode around all day, before you know it it started to get dark and we decided to leave. By the time we got back to the tracks it was dark and by trike did not have a working headlight. My friend turned to me and said what should we do about the rock, and I replied "don't worry about it a few trains have come by I am sure it got sucked up." So off we raced, the next thing I know I am in the air, and the trike landed on my leg which was intersecting the train track at a 90 degree angle. My friend had to lift the trike off of me with what turned out to be 2 broken ribs, and we rode all the way back to my house with my leg flapping back and forth from about half way down. The weird part was that the bone sticking out looked like a black lump, and it did not bleed anywhere near as much as you would expect for something like that.

I have never really had anything like that ever happen to me. I have never broken a bone. I have fractured my rib(s) a couple times, but never a true break.

One of the worst thinsg I can think of is there used to be this big hill in my neighborhood. All the streets were littered with a good layer of gravel as things were never kept up much. We used to ride our bigwheels and bikes and anything down that sucker. You would end up going really fast and that was why it was the favorite spot to "ride" back then. I went out one time not thinking too much as kids do. I headed up to the top and decided to make my run down the enormous hill. I settle in behind the big wheel and push off down the hill. My speed continues to increase as I travel down the hill but as I approach the bottom a car stops at intersection at the bottom and will surely cross my path as I rocket downwards. Now if you recall big wheels the front big wheel is where your pedals are attached and when you get that thing really cranking your feet can not remain on there as its spinning far too quickly. So I did what any other experienced big wheel rider does in that situation, I slapped my feet down to the ground Fred Flinstone style and ground to a halt just before slamming into the vehicle.

I sigh in relief at having avoided a surely traumatic incident but something isn't right. I am in excruciating pain and I quickly realize its coming from my bare feet. I truly did pull a Flinstone braking maneuver complete with bare feet and all. Let me tell you its nothing like the cartoons. I had gravel under all three layers of the skin on the bottoms of my feet and having to sit there while my father scrubbed the ever loving crap out of my feet to get it all out using iodine and the like.... its an experience I'll never forget.

Of course I coudl tell you about my encounter with a Portugese Man of War.... here is a quick excerpt about the poisonous tentacles!

The sting from the tentacles is potentially dangerous to most humans; these stings have been responsible for several deaths, but usually only cause excruciating pain. Detached tentacles and specimens washed up on shore can sting just as painfully as the full creature in the water, for weeks after detachment. The venom can travel up to the genitals and may cause, depending on the amount of venom, more intense pain. In extreme cases medical attention is necessary.

I had what looked like a blue pen mark lazily drawn from shoulder to shoulder across my chest for a few weeks after as a reminder of exactly where I was stung. It was probably a foot and a half long. OUCH! :_(
