"In the lastest issue of the Official Xbox Magazine they have a rumors sections and this month has some very interesting tidbits to keep us excited for the foreseeable future.

- A black Xbox 360 will be released that will have an HD-DVD reader built in, HDMI support and a 250 GB hard drive.

- Ubisoft Montreal is already hard at work on Splinter Cell 5 even as the release of Splinter Cell 4 is 2 months away.

- The Zune willl feature game playing ability but will play games like Zuma (and other Xbox Live Arcade titles) not Halo."

I would buy that black 360 in a second as long as it is not insanely expensive.

DAMMIT!!!! I want a 360 with HD-DVD and HDMI! they will probably come up with an add-on to support HDMI for the 360 in the future if they are producing future systems with it built in.

Josh... the HD-DVD add-on is coming out this Holiday season. It connects to the 360 via usb and has HDMI on the back of it. Priced out at 200 tentatively I believe.

Not true. The HD-DVD add on will have component and VGA but not HDMI.

It's my understanding it does not have HDMI on it. Just two USB ports, a mounting spot for the wi-fi add on, and power plug. I don't know what that smaller plug is for, looks like another smaller USB plug or an IEEE TheaterTech plug, but it's too small to be HDMI (at least from all the cables I've seen). I thought Microsoft said all video will be processed on the 360 and sent to your TV though the composite cables but they didn't rule out a possible HDMI addon in the future.

I was more referring to an internal one, but above all, I would like HDMI...

Don't get me wrong, I would love for them to include HDMI on it and if I'm wrong, I shall dance for joy.

If you listen to Major Nelsons podcast about the HD-DVD add on they say no HDMI.

I guess those are USB ports then HUH? I had heard no HDMI, but I htought those connectors said otherwise.

I read an article before that said HDMI is kinda crap as the movie industry can't enforce the use of this connection as a shit load of current HDTV's don't even have them making their potential even smaller then it already was. You can still get a perfect HD picture from component though.....to my knowledge. HDMI is just content protection.......right?!

You are correct sir. HDMI is no better then Component in terms of quality. The movie industry loves it for the HDCP, but they originally agreed not to implement that before 2010, and now Japan has outlawed the ICT, so I doubt that it will ever come here.

Yeah, but since I have two HDMI ports on my TV, that would free up another composite spot for something else. And "if" they ever enforce the protection, I will need the HD-DVD to run through HDMI, or it's all for nothing...
