That he did. Theoretically, what his wife is doing is disrespectful to him.


But yeah, I do think its what Irwin would've wanted. I KNOW he wanted to die while in the wild and to be killed by an animal (he said that in some interview), so at least he got that wish.

Its my understanding only 2 or 3 people have been recorded to have died by a stingray in history.

I saw a couple of still shots of Irwin and the stingray before and after it stunk him. He's about to hitch a ride on it then it whips its tail at him, Irwin then pulls the stinger out of his chest. When his friend realizes what happened, he stopped filming.
