You should read it. They used light as a carrier to teleport "a macroscopic atomic object containing thousands of billions of atoms."

It is hard to say exactly what they are doing since the don't describe their process at all. My best guess is that they are taking some macroscopic object with some set of quantum numbers and bouncing light off of it onto so other object and transferring the quantum numbers. I will look into this, maybe there is a more technical paper up on Spires.
