Well, it would be pretty one sided considering you stayed on a liberation mission until you got the super chips I didn't. I wanted to enjoy the game, not worry about how to beat a full liberation mission in 8 turns.

I wonder how many 300+ HP attacks my character could withstand.

If you didn't have the cheap chips, I'd be all for it.

Its been a long time in the coming but today is the day I SHALL FINISH PREY. Great game, but CH has been stealing all my time. I advanced a few more levels over this past weekend and finally got to the part where you "save" your girlfriend Jen in the game. The story was pretty slow for most of the game but with that milestone behind me I am very keen on seeing what they do for the finale.

I also was whooping major ass in multiplayer too as Yankee can surely attest too seeing as he was on the receiving end of my boom stick on more then a few occasions. :SM35 Poor bastard kept spwaning right by me. To all who hav enot played the new FREE maps in Prey mp, you really need to give teh game another go around as its mad crazy now with almost ZERO lag.

Catch you guys online tomorrow when XBL emerges from its coccoon all fresh shiny and new. I wonder what form it will take this time around? :SM5

Well you see, to me that was very enjoyable (trying to meet those requirements). I mean, sure, I could breeze through the mission like it was nothing and waste 15 turns or so, but I found having to be strategic to try to reach my goal VERY rewarding. Regardless of whether or not I got cool chips, I would've still done it since it provided a challenge, whereas just finishing the mission really wouldn't have.

Though those chips aren't really THAT powerful. If you don't do any Area Grabs Cloud Man can do 100 damage tops. ShadeMan does 140 damage. CosmoMan would do 210 damage. I mean honestly dude, the freakin' swords do 150 damage. Its not quite as unbalanced as you have convinced yourself that it is. I think the most powerful chip I have is some chip of the Colonel, which does 220 damage automatically.

stuffs been sucking lately at school. C++ programming class went to shit as I missed to much of that, and when our 2nd project came along I was totally LOST (even after going to teachers office) So i'm going to have to drop the class now.... Intro to Atmospheric Science isn't going to great either. We had a lab test and I ended up getting a 50%. The kid next to me got a 9% and the class average was what I got. I've gone to this class everyday, studied, read, and this is my major too yet it still went bad. My teacher is a nice guy but he really makes his tests hard as hell. fucking bastard

Well I finished Prey last night...... YAWN! Man I was getting all excited with where the story might go.... like having a nice M80 and lighter in hand thinking of the glorious explosion that will soon occur. Yet when I lit the damn think it just went... pop.... not KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM like I had envisioned.

I think the guys really fell flat at the end of that game. I was looking forward to performing the "seven trials" at the ethereal cherokee fatherland area... yet no. I was looking forward to a little thought in how to take down the final boss..... yet no. I was hoping from some good solid closure to the story..... yet no. For those that finished the game you surely know they intend on making another.

I liked Prey a lot despite all my gripes. It has a great engine and the topsy turvey level designs and portals are a great game mechanic for FPS and I hope to see their second offering go beyond this and incorporate a truly great story and some great jaw dropping in game moments. Well now I can go back and finish GRAW, CoD2 and maybe even PDZ so I can have a clean FPS slate for when Gears of War comes out later.

I concur. Prey got kinda lame towards the end. Granted, thats my experience with most games these days. You can kinda tell towards the end of some games the devs are just like "OK... we gotta finish this... so... throw all this together and hope it sticks!!!"

I'm currently stuck at the final boss of Mega Man Battle Network 5. I don't know what the fuck Capcom was smoking. I got him down to 200HP last time... but fuck, when he makes the floor go away its so fucking annoying. I had to completely redo my chip folder too just for the fight. How lame is that?


In other news, I'm thinking about passing up PSU. The demo didn't impress me at all (if anything, it annoyed me) and I'm not really playing games that much these days. School and work are sucking up all of my time, then there's always the nice thought of attempting to make music (granted, I'm typically just too tired to bother with it, at least, as far as making beats goes), and to top that of I may (or may not, knowing me this could go either way at any point) be hookin' up with some chic soon/not soon. So... I just don't have time for PSU. And if I don't get on the initial wave... then I doubt I'll ever play it. And I'm so goddamn broke right now I'm starting to think I may have to make a choice between it and Gears of War anyways... and we all know what would win a decision like that.

Gotta get a Wii too... thank God I'm working some insane fucking hours lately. I hear Metal Slug Anthology might get pushed back though. Fine by me, only two launch titles to buy would honestly make my wallet very happy.

The best part of Prey was "saving" your girlfriend for the second time. That was the highpoint of the game story/moment wise. After that it truly felt like a downhill sprint to an ending.... any ending.

I gotta say I probably won't be buying PSU..... it'll be GoW for me without a doubt though. Life has been changing for me lately, work has me busy as hell and with a GF I tend not to have a ton of time to play games. My personal life tends to fall apart when I really focus in on games right now.

Ironic thing is a friend of mine (second circle if you know what that means) from highschool committed suicide this past week as well. He had so much promise coming out of HS, but once he was a USC film school he got pretty addicted to coke and X and ended up becoming a paranoid schizophrenic hearing voices and shit..... well his life went sorta downhill from there and though he did start getting better at one point, he just could not keep away from the drugs and though he was very close to killing himself at one point he didn't...... looks like he succeeded after all. :SM9

In lighter news I preordered GoW from BB and got a free t-shirt to boot. :SM20 I also picked up Trauma Center for the DS while I was there. Perhaps my biomedical engineer girlfriend will actually dig this game. :SM4

Oh it came with a shirt my friend. Get online onight and we'll set up a video chat so I can show it to you that way. The preorder consisted of a 360 game case with GoW preorder "cover art" and no disc inside. The case had a shirt folded up DVD size on the back and was shrinkwrapped on to the case with a second piece of paper between plastic and shirt describing game features and such.

The GoW t-shirt is XL, all black with the standard gear w/ skull symbol on the front of it in blood red and the words "Gears of War" in white vertically to one side if my memory is accurate.

I didn't see them in store at first, but once I did it was a no brainer to pick it up with Trauma Center already in hand. :D

Well, I got up awhile ago, but its still morning to me in my special timezone. :p Last night, just played a ton of NHL 07, and Yankee, when you have a good couple hours, or spread it out through a couple of days, we should do a series to see who the king will be in that game. Any one else have the game? Do a mini season to as well, that'd be fun to.

Besides that, i've just been...watching hockey to, and then of course managing my fantasy hockey team. Hockey is life. :p

Speaking of SCDA, I should be able to have enough points soon to get that game for free, cause i've been working with that site lately, so we'll see. If im able to get that, it'll probley be a good 2-3 weeks to get still though, at least thats how long it took to get my extra GRAW copy.

Well, I just got my first Literature exam back. The class average was in the low 70s and the fill in the blank sections average was 56%. And I was already a bit antsy about it since I didn't think I did well on the fill in the blank (since I didn't study it at all, heh).

So when I got my test back I had a 64 on one part of it, so I was like "Aw shit" but then I turned it over to the back and my actual score was an 86% (and I even exclaimed "Hell yeah I made an 86!"). The 64 was just the amount of points I got on the fill in the blank (out of... 70 or so I think). My roomate made a 77% on his. And the professor said he's going to be scaling up the grades since most of the class didn't do so hot, so I'll wind up with an A on it.

Heh, its pretty cool. My prof. even wrote on my paper that I did amazingly well compared to the rest of the class that I "did an amazing job on the 3 essay questions, as I usually do" (I've had him before, he's a cool guy).

And tonight I get my Calculus exam back. I made a 92 on my last one... this one had that hydrostatic pressure bullshit on it though, so eh... It also covered some shit that wasn't in the book (using Reinmann's Sum for hydrostatic pressure and using the Midpoint Rule to find an arc length). Bleh. I'm not expecting it to be that great (since I didn't really study for it too much, and the prof. was out of town for the week prior so we had a HORRIBLE substitute that didn't even understand the material trying to teach it to us). I think he said he was going to do some considerable scaling for it though given the circumstances... so maybe it won't be too bad (and I know I did well on the arc length/differential equations problems. I just hate that hydrostatic pressure bullshit that I'm NEVER going to use. Hello! How many people design submarines? Why do ALL fucking Calculus students need this shit?)

Meteorology is definitely some cool shit, don't get me wrong. My boss did that kind of stuff with the Air Force, and I often wish I had HALF the knowledge he does on weather and being able to predict whats going to happen with it.


Granted, you might just wind up doing the normal hydrostatic stuff (Pascal's law: Pressure = Density x Gravity x Height), which isn't so bad. If you have to get into the Calculus bullshit aspect of it... ugh, its quite annoying as it adds several steps to that.

Actually, it probably wouldn't have been THAT bad if I had studied. But I know everyone in the class hated it, including myself. Having to find all the variables was a bitch. And him getting us to do that shit using the Reinmann sum was kinda uncalled for (why use that shit when you can just take the fucking integral?). Yeah it is really good so far. I would say it is the best SC game so far. The mp is vastly different then any other game and the sp is just bad ass. The moral choices are very well implemented so far, and the graphics are amazing for a port. I can't imagine what the next game is going to be like.

Pay day is tomorrow! Yay! I will have teh monies. I'm probably going to go pick up Children of Mana for the DS... dunno... maybe not, since I still have to finish Magical Star Sign. ARGH!

But yes, I'm finally going to be done with my gauntlet of exams after today. That makes me happy. I can finally take a weekend to chill. And I don't even have to work on Saturday. :)

I'm heading into San Jose after work tonight to catch an HD screening of the new Warren Miller snow flick. Then this Saturday I'm heading to the Giants stadium in San Francisco to see Jurrasic 5 play at this big snowboard show they call IceAir or something. I get free lift tickets worth 60 bucks at each one so its a total win win for me.

Also traded in my boots from last year for a brand new pair at REI. Damn I love that store.

Bleh. i'm in a really foul mood. This kind of bullshit could only happen to me. I work in IT, and it's a pretty good job. So one guy had this f'ed up machine he's been using for a long time, and a lot of our applications don't even work on it. so we've been pushing for him to get it reformatted for like a moth now. He didn't want to do it because he was fraid he might lose shit. Anyways, he agreed to do it about a month ago and I asked him to provide a list of what he needs backed up and when we can format. He's been stalling for a month and I've been e-mailing him over and over, he kept stalling saying he needed more time to get me a list, or that he would back them up himself. In th end, two days ago, we finally got this thing to move forward, he said he'd give it to me today but first he'd back up all of his files. I told him I'd back his files up just in case.

Anyways, I back up his files. And ghost his drive, set it up, put his files back and give him the machine. Couple of hours later he calls back, says he's missing some files. I figure, no way, I backed up everything important. Turns out the guy had stored ALL of his personal e-mails on the machine from like the last ten years. Of course, those did not get backed up, they weren't in a standard location I'd expect to like, and I only backed up specific directories. He of course goes straight to my manager and my manager's manager, who take this up with the CIO(I work at corporate). Of course, the first thing they ask, did you back up his whole machine. I say no. Did you back up his profile, again no. I just backed up all the files he would need. We have been running out of space on our storage server lately, and even though we have space now, I've made a habit of storing only what is necessary from users machine before ghosting, and I haven't had any complaints yet.

Of course, this guy shouldn't be storing that kind of personal shit on his laptop anyways, but of course it doesn't matter because I should have backed his whole machine up and he wouldn't have lost it. Now i'm working late trying to work on a plan for data recovery and the company might even end up paying hundres of dollars for a data recovery service to get his personal e-mails back. My manager and supervisor will back me up, but their boss won't, I know it because no matter what I say its "my fault because I didn't back up his whole machine". Well... I'll save you some hours. You can't if you did a full NTFS format before the ghost image was installed. NTFS quick will allow for "some" recovery, FAT will allow for a lot of recovery, but an NTFS full wipes everything. For efficiency, I would assume that's what you guys use. Just wiping the data pointers still leaves a fragmented drive.

Alternatively, if you synchronize the users with the server, that instance of his profile may be saved until he gets back on (I had to do that for a couple people before).

Just a couple ideas.

We never wipe the drive before a Ghost, we just image over the existing image. I don't know if ghost does a format, though I don't think it does, anyways, i just used a Data Recovery tool and got squat, so I guess I'm gonna have to call a data recovery facility. Either way, there is no chance in hell he's getting that data back and we are gonna lose $150 in unrefundable fees. It's gonna make me look really bad, all because the dumbass was storing personal data on his WORK machine. Which he SHOULD NOT have been doing, but yeah, it's my fault. :chuck_norris2:

I seem to have scorched the roof of my mouth. I went out for pizza at CiCi's pizza Monday and bit into a pizza that was reaaaally hot. Apparently it scorched the upper front part of the roof of my mouth, and this really sucks.

Finally organized my entertainment center area in my living room. Decided to add an TV stand on top of the nook that was already there and also put away all my DVD's. The end affect of which = a much better looking area. I'm very pleased. Got the 360 chillin in a nice spot with my games, controllers charge station and vision camera all sitting in prime locations. Cable box and modem hidden but also in view.

Actually my buddy (where I am right now) very recently got me back into it (about a year ago). My wife even has a character. :)

i had a nice DnD group going, but our DM moved to venezuela and it was then all over. never got together again, it was shit.

I have the V3 players handbook and character generator. I can create everyones characters and post them.

Anyone has the DM manual and monster manual?

I guess someone could generate us some random 20 dice, 6 dice, etc for the computer, or lets have the DM throw both dices or something.

Doesn't AIM have some dice rolling function? Granted, it would be stupid easy to write a Java Applet or C++ application to simulate rolling dice. Just enter the number of sides and hit a button. :)

Yeah, I can set up a forum just for it and since it is turn based, I'm sure we can wait for posts if everyone is willing to be patient. IM might work for some sessions as well. We can set up special IM sessions, but the board will bee the primary method. I will make it a private invisible board for D&D players only, so we won't bother the rest with our geekiness. We should make a separate thread for this.

JP I am a 7th level Ranger and my wife is a spellcaster of some sort. I actually have a wolf companion and have recently gained some sweet abilities from a wolf spirit.

I also have another character that is a lower level Scout, elf. Based in the Dragonlance universe.

We are using 3.5.

I actually don;t know too much about it, but I am getting into it more and more. My friend setup my wife's and my characters.

You should check out The Book of Madness, its all about aberrations. VERY fascinating stuff. Especially when it comes to the societies of the different types of aberrations.

geez my atmo class really turn to shit. 2nd exam which was on stop day was total bullshit with worthless facts that I do not need to know later in my meterelogy classes. So much for this class being for majors. Final was less bullshit, but today he got the grades done and I ended up with a 72% average. No fucking way thats possible. I had a 79 ish average on all exams, and B average on all labs. No way that comes out to 72. I calculate it with his shady ass scaling and the curve and I come out to 85 %. I email him and he said I was right so HA! :SM14

My final day of exams kinda sucked. I had three back to back. First was music which included a piano thing. I got a fucked up hand though so I got mad sympathy for that. She's like "it shows a lot of character that you're trying to play the piano with your hand all bandaged up, 90% on this portion for you!!!!"

So that was cool. Then it was off to literature which I probably aced. But the stapler was fucking up, so I went over to my prof. and was like:

Me: "The stape--"
Prof. "You're injured."
Me: "Erm... yeah... "
Prof. "Sorry to see that."
Me: "Well... the stapler is screwed up."
Prof. "Oh, let me fix that."

He then goes and fixes it. Then some chic staples her shit just fine. Then I try to with my bad hand and it fucks up again!!! And my professor is like:
"Your hand is bad. Let me do it."

And then he's like "You know Jonathan, you're a smart guy, you need to quit riding on the wild side. You did an amazing job on your last exam, that was one of the best essays I've seen this year."

I... have no fucking clue what that first part meant. If the wild side indicates seperating frozen chicken with a butcher knife then I guess I'm one hardcore motherfucker.

But then it was on to Calculus. Not something you want to have a comprehensive exam on after you've been taking tests for 6 hours straight. So my mind went fucking blank while I was sitting there. I was tired. I wanted to go home. I gave it my best, but my heart really wasn't in it.

Ah well, I can make a 50 on that exam (as it is 50% of my grade) and still pass. So here's hoping!!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm done. Now I'm just going to kick back and relax for awhile. Take it easy and mentally prepare for next semester and whatever it may bring.

math finals are probably the worse finals. I'm beginning to think i'm going to have to take vector calc again...mostly due to missing it so much. the class was easy until the last 3 weeks. I've been working on the final review and these problems are not making much sense not a good sign. :SM7

Ugh, I cant sleep again, so who knows when I finally will fall asleep today. :(

Had my hockey game last night, third of the session...we lost 8-3, 4-3 going into the third, just totally fell apart and got tired. I have a pretty new team again, lost a few guys that make a huge differnce, so that sucks. I feel like I have to lead the team again, but get this, in the first 3 games, im without a single fracking point. :SM19

Everyone else on my team has a point, I just dont get it, im skating fast and hard, better than I have beenin a long time, im getting breaks to the net, im just not getting off good shots, and when I make good passes, my guys aint scoring around me. It's difficult, I feel like I have to do it all and I cant do a thing, I have no help, and some of the new guys arnt guys that can really open it up, so I think teams are keying on me more as well. I have a solution though, one of the guys who is still on my team usually plays D but goes up alot, anyways, we know each other well, im going to have him play forward with me, that'll open it up huge for us and me and get me scoring again, cause I cant beat everyone though I did make 3 nice moves tonight getting around guys, last week I almost powered through to, but you see, its me vs both there D, I need help! lol. Or at least need my shot to actually be acurate once again...im going to buy me a new stick this week hoping that'll help to.
