Yeah I loved the show and the movie is great. Can't wait to see Jewel in glorious HD.

Serenity and Batman Begins.....very, very nice.

I am going to hold off as long as I can on upgrading from standard DVD's.
Still it is so tempting to try and get the HD-DVD add on for the 360.

Wow... Amazon sells all the hd-dvds for 20 bucks?

Looks like it's saving 5-10 dollars a piece for me... unless they charge that for shipping.. in which case it's the same.

Amazon sold out of their allotment of add ons last week, and the EB near me is also sold out. This format war should be very interesting. Josh Amazon does free shipping on any order over $25, it takes 5-9 days, and they have a deal where if you buy 3 HD-DVDs you get 20% off your order.

Ooooo!!! Once I get my player, I shall be hitting up Amazon then. I can wait another week or so for all the movies, afterall, it comes with King Kong and upconverts regular DVDs right? I know there isn't confirmation on the regular DVD thing yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

It upconverts through VGA. MS wanted to do upconversion over component but the movie industry would not allow it.

the movie industry would not allow it.

WHAT??? What a bunch-a-fuckin' idiots!

At least I have a VGA cord... but dammit! Idiots! We don't want our films to look better though this connection, only that one!

They claim that it is possible to pirate movies through component but not VGA/HDMI. Funny thing is I downloaded my first HD-DVD last night. Looks awesome even though it had been converted to wmvhd.

Piracy will never be prevented. They should know this by now. It just takes an extra month here, extra month there, then they're back in business.
