An Aqua Teen Movie

January 3, 2007 - Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the cult hit animated series that airs during Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block, is coming to the big screen in the form of Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters.
The movie, just like the surreal comedy series, will center around Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake. But this story will be much more elaborate than the usual 11-minute episodes. According to Variety, the Aqua Teen movie will be an 86-minute affair telling what happens when our three fast food heroes go up against an intergalactic foe.
A press release sets it up this way: "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters is an action-adventure epic that reveals the mysterious origins of Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake. When an immortal piece of exercise equipment threatens the balance of galactic peace, it is up to the Aqua Teen Hunger Force to run away from it. Peril escalates when the Plutonians team up with the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past to strive for ultimate control of the sinister deadly device."
Co-creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro will write, direct and produce the film. "Never before will the silver screen be engaged in such a celebration of animation," Maiellaro and Willis said simultaneously and in unison. Willis told Daily Variety, "It's based on our fear of exercise equipment."
The movie will reportedly hit theaters in March courtesy of First Look Pictures. It will open on around 800 screens.
Reprising their roles in the big screen movie are Maiellaro (Err, Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past); Willis (voice of Carl, Meatwad and Ignignokt); Dana Snyder (Master Shake); Carey Means (Frylock); and Andy Merrill and Mike Schatz (The Plutonians). Guest starring are the voices of Bruce Campbell and Neil Peart of the band Rush. Nice.
