I was just cleaning up some stuff on my desktop and I came across it, and I realized that I never posted it here even though I meant to right after it was accepted. Here it is, even though I doubt that anyone cares.

Okay I started to read some of that and my brain began to melt. Seriously. Quarks and Gluons????
That sounds like a bad episode of Star Trek.

interesting, but mostly over my head.
I can't open it...says I need microsoft powerpoint, lol...
anyways, I wrote mine about 5 years ago. I wrote about how Spain used battle tactics from the Moors to win back Spain. Do I believe my thesis? Not really, lol. I found a whole bunch of stuff about it in old spanish journals etc..but I didn't convince myself. By that point I was turning it in nomatter what I thought. It was more about me putting together a good paper instead of proving something in history. It was 33 pages long and I ended up getting an
"A". Deep down though, I don't even think the lady even read it. I lost a lot of respect for her for that. I think it was an "A for effort" type of thing. Only went back and talked with her once at a friend's graduation. Quick hi and good bye. She was my advisore, teacher in a few classes, and kind of mentor for a while.

radio show. either a lost influences revival kinda show, or a weekly miniseries of books like james bond or something. Or, the full business plan and realization of my own internet station.

For the people without powerpoint, I used torrentspy to grab a copy of office and powerpoint is included in that.

basically it can be a new study or development, or a project concerning and developing and using the skills you were supposed to acquire during college. its fun most of the time since its usually what you want to do, but when teachers and judges start putting their grain of salt or become a roadblock it can be a bitch.
Man, we were given a 300 year period and something in Europe....
....now go write a 30+ page paper that proves something you haven't read anyone talk about before in any of your books.
That was just about it. Once I figured out how to study and write a paper, getting A's was cake. It was harder for me to get good grades in high school because well, I didn't care then. lol.

same for me. but i get good grades now because i really really enjoy what im doing. not really a studying major im in, more of a work your fucking ass off and be stressed a lot major. lol.
So lets see here:
shinji is a Communications major I'm assuming.
NGT is a History major.
Yankee is obviously a physics major.
Darth is a Meteorology Major.
Josh has a degree in Computer Information Systems.
Jason (Xephion) has a degree in Graphic Design.
Cystic is going for a degree in Electrical Engineering.
jdeath is majoring in graphic design.
Hunter, I'm assuming, is a Computer Science major (or has a CS degree).
And when I graduate in 3 years I'll have a triple major in Optical Engineering, Optical Science, and Mathematics (along with a minor in Physics).
Damn, we're a smart board.

don't worry KandE there are plenty of smart people out there that didn't go to college :) I personally hate college at times. I've never been the best student; however, my passion is still meteorology and understanding it. Just so much other bs I have to get through to understanding it :SM14

im not saying that im a dumb person for not being in or going to college. i mean there are times that i think about taking an online course in something that i would like. but sometimes i like so many things that i dont know what i would like. also, i was never good at being in school. i hated doing homework and writing papers. more of a working person, i like to work and make money.

yeah thats another thing. I know some people in college can get some good internships or parttime jobs that are related to their major. However, for me its hard to do that. There are some internships that I can do in about a year though. Not paided stuff, but I wouldn't mind getting some hands on the metereology work place.

yea, hands on is the only way that i can learn things as well. i dont like sitting there reading about what i need to do. i like to just get in there and start doing it so i can become good at it.

I hate how our entire eduacation system seems to be based on, doing the work, and memorizing tons of shit as opposed to actually learning things.
Meaning, I coasted through HS and pretty much college, doing pretty well, with NO EFFORT and learned more or less squat. Everything I know, I know because I took the time to go out and research various topics of interest to me. I can spend days reading Wikipedia entries, or books, or magazines, or watching PBS shows on topics that interest me. Hell, sometimes I'd even spend History class ignoring the teacher and reading through interesting parts of the text book. I also LOVE how I constantly got int trouble in my english classes for reading and writing too much, just because I didn't listen to all the BS the teachers had to say. Especially since I already knew everything they were rambling about. I read most of the Shakespeare on my own long before they gave it to us in school.

i think they need to change the way they do things in schools. make it more hands on and more intresting rather than boring.

I’m a big believer in that method. I think some of the main reasons I miss class so much is I end up teaching myself and learning by reading the text. I just hate going to class and listening to lectures. The worst lectures are always math classes. But I get into a bad habit and miss class periods I shouldn’t (ie: when stuff is due and important information not in the book) this is why next semester I’m going to perfect attendance.

I don't give a fuckin shit who has what for degrees. I started college as a computer Science Major, struggled through Calc 1 and 2, beat the shit out of intro CSI 1 and 2 then dropped it for Business Management.
Fact is, I like the fact that most of you assholes enjoyed Sega games as much as I did so I don't give a fuck if you're stupid sons of bitches, You're all ok in my book. But you don't have to take my word for it: Do da DA...........ummm ignore the first 30 seconds of this and just enjoy the end.....i'm too drunk to edit:

See I told you.....they are a very diverse school. Not to mention a HUGE one!!!
I am very confused, I don't think anyone in here was looking down on anybody per se...
So I'm not entirely sure whats going on with that...
But, I don't think anyone here cares what anyone else here's profession or list of degrees is. Like I said, pieces of paper definitely do not define intelligence. Some of the smartest people I've ever met dropped out of college or couldn't afford it, and some of the biggest fucking idiots I've met have had degrees. I just thought it was interesting that a lot of people on here aren't retarded 14 year olds. Hard to find a board like that anymore.
