I voted for the Saturn (duh).


To me the Saturn is the pinnacle of gaming. It has the best library of 2D shooters ever (which is NOT defined by Cave's drivel thank you very much), it has a very solid library of 2D fighters, and, in my opinion, it represents Sega's best years (NiGHTS, Panzer Dragoon, Virtua Fighter, etc.).

Of course, it also holds my favorite games of all time exclusively. Those being:
Radiant Silvergun, Guardian Heroes, NiGHTS, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Astal, Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru, Blast Wind, Hyper Duel, and Game Tengoku.

Sadly, if you didn't import for the Saturn, you really had no clue on what all it had to offer. Which I guess is why no one understands its greatness in the west.

As far as I'm concerned, SEGA only got better with time until the Sammy merger; making Dreamcast my favourite console. I really, really love my Saturn, tho.. But if I didn't have a JP console, I wouldn't have had nearly as much fun, and in fact I might have even been disappointed with it.. Actually, that's a lie. Saga and NiGHTS alone are enough reason to put the Saturn in the hall of fame.

I voted Saturn, but it's really tough to decide. SMS is probably my most loved console for nostaligic purposes alone, but the Saturn gave me a lot of quality gaming time. It was like the last hurrah for quality 2D console games. They still stand up great today.

I dunno if I should even choose one, but I'll stand by Saturn.

Saturn 4Lyfe yo. The 2 best games to ever be on a Sega console are RS and PD:S, and they were both on the Saturn. If the DC had liked for 5+years and gotten more big releases then I would have picked it, but it got cut to short to seriously be considered.

Shenmue and Shenmue II put the DC over the top for me.

Dreamcast for me. Although the Genesis made me a big Sega fan, the DC cranked it up to 11. It made me love gaming the way I did when I was young and now I am more into gaming than I ever was. I have the DC to htank for that.

EASILY Dreamcast for me. The Saturn never really caught on for me except for a few titles but the Dreamcast had a TON of games I loved. I'd name them, but you guys would get tired of reading!

The Genesis, for sure. That's what I grew up with, literally. I didn't have another home console until 2005. So many great games. Memories.
