Playing PAL Master System games...

Since apparently the PAL library dwarfs the US library, I was just wondering how difficult it is to play PAL SMS games on US TVs. Am I going to have to do the whole converter thing? Is the SMS region locked? Will it work on my TV?

Just wonderin'. I really want to pick up the Sonic games and Laser Ghost, all of which I'm assuming never saw a US release. :~

In the meantime, Power Strike and Penguin Land will be my friends. :)

I believe you can play the pal games without issue. Japanese games will probably not work due to the different cart size and pinout. I have never owned one, but I'm pretty sure that's the case. I'm almost 100% sure UK games are exactly the same though. I will say with 99% confidence that you can play pal SMS games on your US SMS.
