Mine are playing Zaxxon and lady bug on the Colecovison. My mom would wipe the floor with me at Lady bug. There was also a baseball game that used this weird controller that you held in one hand and there were 4 buttons on the grip and each one would throw a different kind of pitch, that game rocked to. Here it is (http://www.mobygames.com/game/colecovision/super-action-baseball), but I can't find any pics of the controller.

I don't know if you guys are at all familar with this title, but when the light side and dark side would meet up, the two pieces that touched would go into an arena and fight to the death. Each "unit" had different capabilities, for example... the Unicorns on the light side ran fast and shot bolts while the Dragon on the dark side could fly over opponents on the chess board and shoot fireballs in the arena.

The Knights and Goblins used swords and clubs. Awesome fucking game, one that needs a modern remake... hmmmm

I loved that game but I had it on my Apple II C. Such good times. I loved the golems with their boulder throwing........at least, i think they were boulders. That's what I imagined them to be.

I think my earliest gaming memory was frogger, though. We had that and a bunch of other games for the Atari 2600. Aside from that, games like Centipede (damn those videos that were just posted), Pacman, and Combat. I loved Combat.

Sadly, my mom gave away our Atari to our jackass adopted cousins

And they probably never played it. A similar fate befell our SNES. We couldn't get a 3DO unless we "sold" one of our systems (and I wasn't about to lose any Sega greatness). To this day, that pisses me off. Right before Killer Instinct came out on it :(

I think it was playing arcade games at amusement parks. I know I played that gun game where you shot at sharks.....I think it was in JAWS.

At home it was the Atari 2600 and Combat. Yes I am old....... ;)

The first game I played was on the NES at a friend's house.

To this day, I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. It was a Platformer/Sidescroller, where you could do two-player co-op. It involved shooting and such. Lots of green forests in the first stage, water too. Some sort of robot boss I think? Great music. The only other thing I remember about it is that one player was blue, and the other was red.

My earliest would be playing Jungle Hunt and Miner on our Atari. I'm not sure if it was then, or if it was once we got out NES, but I remember my brother set up rules that he would get to play for a life, then I would. But he was 3 years older and a hell of a lot better than me, so a lot of times I'd die in less than a minute, then he'd be playing something for 20 minutes or more. It really sucked having to share a system when I was little. Oh, we played a lot of Q-Bert, too.. I really miss that game. It's not the same without the giant joystick controller, with the suction cups on the bottom. Oh yeah, and Popeye!!

That does sound really unfair. Those graphics actually don't look as bad as I would expect.

I wonder if my atari would still work now... I wouldn't mind having the chance to play those games again. Maybe I could petition XBL to add them. ;)

Lucky! I never saw it in an arcade. A bigger screen would have been nice. Do you remember if it had more than 4 levels? I remember the vine jumping one, the one where you swim, the one where you jump over boulders while going up a hill, and then the one with the canibals. Any that I'm not remembering?

After seeing that leaked screen my hype is now off the charts. I can't even imagine how awesome it is going to be.

Hmm.....good question. I can't remember any others, but again I wasn't all that good at the game.

I do know that it is on the Taito Legends game that I USED to have for Xbox.

I remember the vine jumping one, the one where you swim, the one where you jump over boulders while going up a hill, and then the one with the canibals. Any that I'm not remembering? It had the same 4 levels, but the main difference was that they scrolled. It was the second scrolling platform game ever. Also the original version (Jungle King) featured Tarzan, but they got sued for using the character and had to change it in later editions. Pretty far ahead of its time.

My earliest clear gaming memory definitely wasn't the first time I played video games, but it was the first time I owned one. I was 4 or 5 and I got an Atari 2600 with Berzerk and Missile Command.

Either some really old atari football game whose name I can't recall. That or some old car racing game on MAC with a bunch of lines. That game was awesome.

I loved Missile Command back in the day. Fantavision reminded me of that game a lot.
