Looks like Saturn emulation has been added to Gametap and they will start tricking Saturn games onto the service. Pretty neat. If they get Astal working, I'll be happy.

gives a new audience a chance to enjoy some of sega's best games so I guess its alright in the end.

I think gametap is a pretty nice idea. I'd have a hard time running most games on my PC, though.

I find it funny that it took this long to get Saturn emulation going.

frog: you should have accepted the complimentary media offer that Iforwarded to you from my PR rep. that way you could write a feature about it.

Hopefully this will open the eyes of a new group of people. I'm always blown away by how many gamers shun the Saturn without having ever owned one, or without playing any of the truly amazing titles.

There have been free Saturn emulators for years, if that's what you meant. For some reason a lot of people seem not to know about that.

If they got "Astal" working with the Japanese voices intact, I'd be even happier. But that's wishful thinking, and not the sort of thing GameTap does. Alas.

At least "Astal" absolutely rocks, although SEGA doesn't seem too keen on publicly agreeing with that. Why hasn't it seen a GBA re-release, when it would've been perfect for the platform? The world may never know.

I'm with you on hoping it gets tossed onto GameTap, at the very least.

As someone who's dabbled with the GBA hardware, I really don't think it would be able to do it justice. DS could come a lot closer, though. Do it, Sega!

Also, welcome to the boards, Val.

Aw, and here I was hoping to enter all silently, but you've highlighted my noobery and ruined it all. Oh well, couldn't have been a better thread to do it in.

Mwahaha.

Like half the board is new anyway (hence the "get to know each other" thread in Sound Off). And even most of the people that aren't were only around for a few months.
