You can't classify yourself as a gamer or a geek without having an appreciation or love for Star Wars.

The 2 hour show was pretty good. It showed all the major influences on the stories. Good stuff.
I know the two reasons people rank Phantom Menace below Clones:
-Jar Jar
-Young annoying Anakin
My ranks:
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. Phantom Menace
6. Attack of the Clones
There is barely a difference between Phantom and Clones, IMO. My reasons for ranking them that way:
-Phantom had one of the best (if not the best) lightsaber duels. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon vs. Darth Maul. Now it wasn't near the emotional battle that other fights were (Luke v. Vader in Empire and Jedi and Anakin v. Obi-Wan in Sith), but it was a great fight.
-Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were better than Anakin and Obi-Wan in Clones, IMO. Liam Neeson did a great job as Qui-Gon. Obi-Wan's character was almost ruined in Clones. He was way too stuffy and was much easier to listen to in Phantom. I blame that on the directing, not the actor. He was great in Sith. I also thought Anaking was better in Sith than in Clones.
-The beginning of Phantom was amazing. That first five minutes or so on the Trade Federation ship was great.
-I hated Jar Jar with a passion (who doesn't?) and Rick McCallum admitted he was a mistake......which the rest of the world knew after they walked out of the theater.
-Little Anakin was annoying, but no more than whiny teenage Anakin.
-Do we have to get into the love story on Naboo in Clones? Yes I know it was necessary, but still.......yuck.
- I do admit the battle on Geonosis was nice, but the only good thing about the lightsaber duel was Yoda and even that wasn't all that great. I think everyone was just crazy about seeing him fight, I know I was. I thought that when Anakin grabbed the second lightsaber we were in for a good fight.....not so much. Again it moved the story along, but Phantom's duel was MUCH BETTER.
-C-3PO was the Jar Jar of Clones. Not nearly as bad, but the one liners on Geonosis was terrible. "this is such a drag" when R2 was pulling his head on the floor "I am beside myself" when his head is laying next to his body.
-Darth Maul >>>>>>>>>>>> Count Dooku. Of course Maul had no real lines that were very good and Christopher Lee is a good actor. Still Maul was just more bad ass, IMO.
So in the end, I have Phantom over Clones by the smallest of margins.
Sorry for the long post, but we are talking Star Wars here. :D

Valid reasons. And I won't debate you on it. BUt I will say that, Personally Clones was better cause I liked the Bobba Fett origin, seeing how the storm troopers are all Fett clones. Which explains the same height and speech patterns. I liked how freaking YODA WAS A WAR TACTICIAN!
"Flank to the left we must."
"Drop more ships there we will!"
I liked this ... I have this as my start up music.

I WAV'd it when Attack first came out, cause this scene cracked me up. It was soo Obi Wan. Rememebr he pulled it again in New Hope with the Storm Troopers.

I agree with a lot of your points CJ. C3PO was awful in Clones. Those two movies have about equal amount of problems to them. Thankfully Revenge was a major step above them in just about every aspect.

I'll play
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. New Hope
3. Return of the Jedi
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. Attack of the Clones
6. Phantom Menace
As much as I try I can't find myself enjoying Revenge as much as any of the original trilogy. However, I did enjoy it far more then Episodes 1 & 2. And oh my god do I agree with you cjg725 about the Obi-wan/Qui-gon vs Maul fight. I find my self popping in the dvd from time to time, just to rewatch that fight. Probably the bets part of Ep. 1,2, and 3.

Great points about Clones. I did enjoy the Fett and Clones origins and Yoda being a field general.
"Around the survivors a perimeter create."
The Fett vs. Obi-Wan fight was also pretty good.
Also that was the only scene (minus the fights) were Obi-Wan was Obi-Wan in Clones.
Anyway I watched Phantom Menace yesterday and I will be watching Clones real soon. Again we are talking the absolute slimmest of margins, IMO. :)

I liked the Revenge of the Sith fight. Anakin v Obi.
I think the fight was not better than Maul/Obi/Jin fight, but for overall story. It was a far superior battle. Really in the skeem of things. Qui Gon Jin was never mentioned again after Sith. After Sith. all people talked about was Obi v Vader. And in Sith the battle lived WAYYY up to the hype.
After watching the Star Wars: Legacy revealed show on Histpory channel. I have a better appreciation of whiney, bitchy Anakin.
They are right. Who better to be the most evil Villain in cinema than a person who never got his way. Its the perfect Demonstration of
BAD PARENTING!
He got time outs. He got treated like an adult and the kid still was spoiled. He never got smacked around. Never was spanked. And what happened? The kid starts strangling his Woman like a Pimp, wanted to take over the world, blames everyone else for his problems, chokes his field generals, tries to mind fuck his own daughter, tries to manipulate his son into going into the family business, finds out he has a daughter and uses that info to try and get her to join, has been wanted to kill his boss for like 30 years, btw hates his boss, hates being told what to do, bribes a gov't official to turn over his own friend, cuts off his sons own hand and then wants him to join him, etc.
So yeah it makes perfect sense ... I'm serious. Think about it. I did and now I love the prequels.
