Alas, it is. As much as I dislike EA and their monopolizing, I wouldn't mind if someone like Criterion Games made a "Speed Racer" game instead. (Of course there are even better sim developers, but it would have to be an arcade-style title.)


But they were chrome in the cartoon 60's and 80's.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think whatever alloy the wheels consisted of was never confirmed. (Plus, solid black donuts would have looked ugly on a space-age car.)

I've seen the show, but if you look up the specifications of the cartoon's Mach 5, the information about the wheels is never listed. I know that they're silver, but they could be aluminum for all we know (which would make much more sense on a racing vehicle). Plus, no designer would have put black wheels on a car like that in such a cartoon, since it (A) wouldn't look good and (B) wouldn't mean anything to the young audience.

Well, to be fair the people who make the Hannah Montana games (Way Forward) also happen to be the people who made Contra 4. Some companies just make crap licensed games so they can afford to make original games they want to make occassionally.

But from that track record, yeah, I wouldn't expect much. :p
