"Dear friends, in April, Wizards of the Coast and Paizo Publishing announced the conclusion of Paizo's license to publish Dragon and Dungeon magazines. The magazines will cease publication following the release of the September issues, which ship to subscribers and newsstands in August. The final issues will be Dragon #359 and Dungeon #150."
Wizards is opting for a new digital format. I understand the move from a business standpoint, as it will save them a lot of money. However, I live and breath these magazines, and I will miss them sorely. I actually read them more then I play the game at points. To me, there is nothing better then picking up (key words there PICKING UP) a new issue and sifting through it for days. I'm not a big fan of the e-zine format, but I guess it's a consolation. What's worse is that the new e-zines are going to be from a new staff, so it's not even going to be from the same minds.
Paizo is doing a new periodic adventure series (read campaign if you're in the know) called Pathfinder, which will be interesting since new adventures were the meat and potatoes of these mags anyay.

From all accounts there is not bitterness between the two companies, and Paizo will continue to make accessories and sell products for the d20 system.
Another sad point that people who are not regular followers of these magazines may miss is the fact that they often included fan submissions. Many members of the Paizo team were once just fans of the game who made submissions to the magazine and caught there attention. It was a agreat platform for people to get their first projects published in a meaningful place. Hopefully the Paizo website will play host to this type of content now, or the new Wizards of the Coast run Dungeojn and Dragon e-zines will include this type of content.
