The director wanted to being the old 80's flair with the current state of cinematography .... i like it. Mindless gunplay.

80s action wasn't as over-choreographed and retarded, though.

I think The Matrix ruined action movies. It was cool in that movie when it was a gimmick, but now every movie has to have people shooting stuff while somersaulting through the air in slow motion and it's just campy. This isn't a throwback it's everything that every action movie in the last 10 years has been trying to do, amplified.

It does seem to have those bas 80s one-liners, but that's not really a good thing.

Looks pretty goofy to me. Plus, I think Clive Owen acts like a pussy, so I don't buy the tough guy stuff....same as I felt about him in Sin City.

I saw this movie at a free screening and even as a joke film, it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

If you want to know what happened in the movie (not plot, just stunts):
It included him delivering a baby during a gunfight, shooting off the umbilical chord, a skydiving gun fight, a gunfight while fucking, shooting at babies, trying to run over babies, Paul Giamatti making jokes and references to Sideways, a bad pun after EVERY action sequence or at every given opportunity

This makes it awesome.

You honestly did not like Children of Men?

Never watched it. I take it it's a good movie? I just don't particularly like Clive Owen as a tough guy.

Very good movie. Give it a watch, put aside your hatred for Clive, Hi-Def if you can, and be blown away. Awesome movie.

it was a very good movie, and he doesnt play the whole tough guy routine.

children of men is easily one of the top 10 movies of last years. its a must watch.
