Picked it up today and pretty good. Some of the songs at the beginning really feel boring though but the after that some really good stuff. (final track is a simple yet beautiful song) This is a pretty mellow out album for the most part. Nothing really different from previous albums recently so if you weren't a fan of them before I wouldn't bother. But if you are a fan then pick it up :D

I might have to check it out. I like Foo Fighters, but I haven't gotten a new album from them in a long time.

Saw them in concert at the Borgata when it first opened up.
Nice guys too since I was a cook and they were performing in the club that was next to my kitchen.
Drank water the whole time they were there. Not hard partiers like Nickleback was.

I'll be getting the CD tomorrow. :D I hope it's better than In You Honor...easily my least favorite album (I felt it lacked a cohesiveness being split into two halves...I'd rather have had 12 songs mixed between slow and fast than 20 that don't gel very well).

You're right! I think this is the best album they've done since Colour and the Shape. :) I'm very happy with it, a fine return to form.

Amen. The art of making a good cohesive album seems to be dying. I wonder if that's because they know it will become MP3s on a hard drive and not as many people listen straight through any more.

glad you like it wildcat. I'd rate it up there with their best but still not as good as first three albums. And I'm generally an old school music listener. I love great full albums.

There Is Nothing Left to Lose has grown on me as I've gotten older, but it's my least favorite of the pre-Chris Shriffet (sp) CD's. The original is one glorious Grohl fest, and has plenty of good stuff on it, but it's also the most different of any Foo disc. Colour and the Shape was a life-changing CD for me. :bucky: One of my favorites of all time. I like One by One too, but I've liked it less as I've gotten older (weird, eh?). In Your Honor was a decent CD, and I think Best of You is a great, great song, but the execution of it was rather poor for reasons I stated earlier. There you go, a review of all the other Foo albums in my view. :)

here is my order of favorites
1. Theres nothing left to lose
2. Foo Fighters
3. The Colour and Shapes
4. In Your Honor
5. Silence, Patience, Patience, and Grace
6. One by One
7. Skin and Bones
1-5 are all great and Silence is still pretty new so who knows where it will end up in the future. One by One has some great tracks, but some real stinkers. Skin and Bones was just annoying mostly because I don't like live albums that much, and the song Skin and Bones is eh.
