They posted up a video on the live Marketplace as well. Same video, actually, but it looks nice on the HD. It kinda remind me of Forgotten Worlds with way more bullet action going on.

well M2D and I have been playing this for the past hour and half now (just playing the game and chatting) There is no online co-op which is a shame but it is locally.

Like the game. Def has some really sweet visuals. Best example is having option B attack for the girl character maxed out and seeing the laser reflect off walls :nod:. I've only gotten to level 2 so far (reminds me of 2nd level on PDO heh) but yeah currently I have 15th best score on level 1, which of coarse won't last :lol:


Def think this is the best shmup on XBLA right...so check it out!

oh and the music in the trailer was not what I was hearing while playing the game. In fact it was very good music :)

I picked this up earlier today and played for about an hour. Pretty damn cool little game. By the end I could make it to the level 3 boss on one credit but its one of those "memorize me!" boss fights so I didn't beat it. Very close though.

Not as good with Tempest I'm afraid. Can't quite figure him out.

But I'll definitely be playing it some more after this weekend. :nod:

So I've since beaten the game with all the characters (on one credit of course) and now have all 200 achievements and a somewhat respectable score for Normal Mode.


So... M2D, when you gonna topple my score eh? ;)

To be fair, there is an Arcade++ mode for us real shmuppers, and it is quite brutal (1 hit kills, though the highest multiplier is x30, as opposed to x10 in the regular game. Awesomely enough, Arcade++ scores are used for the main leaderboard).

I'm totally digging it. It took me a while to get a feel for the weapon system which is surprisingly complex. I assume enough play time is what unlocks the two other characters?

Barn Burner, I found using bombs more often helped a lot. They replenish quicker than in most shmups.




Oh and the big four armed dude...wtf is up with his design? He totally looks like he is peeing on everything, especially with the class B weapon.

You unlock the other characters by beating the game with each initial character.

Can you kill the big "midbosses"? ie, the huge snow robot on stage one, the giant centipede on stage 2, etc etc. I've never killed one.

For the giant mechs in the snow, you can blow up their head for 15,000 points.


With the worm, the second time it shows up you can blow it up.

I've blown up its head, but his arms appear to have hit boxes too (the snow mech)

not an issue with me. Its really hard for me to sell off my games because I always hold a belief that I will play it again.

Well JP, I made a good run at your score, its still far off cause i never saw the third stage boss before until I got there without dying, so not knowing what it was going to do certainly "offed" me pretty quickly. :p

Third stage is FUN though, I liked that alot, but that boss, what a bitch, lol.

It will only save your score if you don't continue. Which is really dumb. If my first game's score is my personal best, and I continue, then it should still save the first game's score. Continuing or not has no influence on the first score.

It does reset your score. But if you continue, it won't save the first score.

So, play game, get 1,000,000 points, die.

Stop playing -> 1,000,000 score is saved

Decide to continue -> score is discarded.

Doesn't make any sense. It's not like choosing to continue somehow goes back in time and effects your first score.

The game is so much easier with the girl. I didn't even realize the snow mechs on the first level are two different ones till I started using her (she destroys their heads almost instantly).

I'm catching up. I doubled my best score (now at 2.44 million) and I beat you Movie on stage 1 challenge :) I had the entire stage perfected except the boss hit me once. Once!! I was so pissed :)

I think I've given up on maintaining a 10x multiplier for the whole stage, it can't be possible. There are too many big gaps.

This game reminds me of Pulstar (except it's significantly easier). For Pulstar, I played each level individually until I had them perfected, then I strung them all together into one game and one creditted the game. That's sort of been my approach so far. But I might not have to get that anal, this game isn't obscene like Pulstar was.

It does have a similar style and pace as Pulstar.

There's two areas in level 1 where I'm like .002 seconds from keeping the multiplier going. If I can figure out how to link those, I think I can get my level 1 score around 2 million, regular mode. Oh and using type C for ruby, even at level 2, is key. A weaker weapon is better, easier to keep your multiplier going. Her type B weapon is really powerful.

My level 2 score is like 50,000 :) haven't figured that level out at all. I think it's even harder than level 3.

And the perfect bonus is 10,000! boo!

Yeah, I was about to run over that as well and see if I could keep it going or not, i'll try using type C as well, as I normally use B cause it just rocks so much. :p

Stage 2 gets my vote for hardest stage, up till stage 3 boss. :p
