View Full Version : Did anyone else pick up Unreal Tournament 3 today?
Finally, a good first-person shooter that I care to get into. I've had it preordered for like.. over a year now, and the game finally came out today. Snagged the Collector's Edition.
Did anyone else get it? Or am I going to be stuck in pick-up groups for awhile?

As much as I'd like to, it just ain't happening this month. And there are maybe 3 of us that play PC games on this board, I'm not thinking your odds are good.
I figured. Seems like it's mostly a 360 crew around here.
Drop me a line once you pick it up, if you in fact do.

UT's my most played online series ever but I won't be getting it for a while. I'm not in a rush to upgrade my PC (I tried the UT3 demo but I can't run it playable) with so much other stuff to catch up with.

I'm interested in the game, but there is a lot of other stuff I need to get first. If you're still playing after the holidays, I may pick this up.

The way my queue is backed up, I'll get to it sometime in 2010.

Well. I'm in it for the long-haul, myself.
For those of you picking it up somewhere down the line, here are a few random screenshots I snapped of some DM maps. This game is too much fun.. I'm currently ranked at #132. =)
These are kinda boring, I couldn't really reach up for the F9 key mid-battle, so... no action shots. They look nice, though.. they're at 1680x1050, max settings. No AA or anything, I don't think. My FPS counter is kinda bogged down since I had a million other programs running in the background while I was playing, and the CPU priority wasn't set. I'm not sure how much of a difference that'd make.
I won't embed them since they're a megabyte each.

I'll probably get it. I was soooooo hooked on the original UT and Quake 3 Arena way back when.

Got this today. Going to plow through the single player campaign to warm up and then I'll be ready for some online action.
This game runs like a champ for as nice as it looks. Solid 60fps with every setting maxed, even at high resolutions.

Drop your profile name whenever you're ready to get down.
I haven't taken a look at the campaign yet, but from what I hear it's just a series of regular botmatches with cutscenes thrown in. =/

I have to do it anyway, and I figure it'll be a good warm up.
