View Full Version : Broke down and bought Shikigami no Shiro 3 for the 360
I heard the Wii version pales in comparison, hence why I never snagged its US release.
I wasn't really a fan of Shikigami no Shiro 2 truth be told, but I wasn't doing the whole TATE thing back then either, so I kinda feel I was being unfair to it.
Looking forward to it, impressions to follow, yadda yadda yadda.

Very nice, im still going to try and wii version just because.
You should. I'm sure its a fine port. Thats just what some dude on some other forum said.
And then we can compete with scores!!!!!! :buttrock:
man, I can't believe how screwed US 360 owners are getting with shmups, and I'd bet 90% don't even know it. I can't afford another 360, so I'm missing out and that blows. FUCK YOU microsoft.

Alright, well yeah definitely, I look forward to competing with you once again! Though really now, its us vs everyone, w00t.

Yeah... well, you can blame everyone that didn't buy Senko no Ronde for that. Less than 3000 copies sold period?
Shit dude, there isn't a shmup on the 360 in Japan that sold less than that its FIRST WEEK! Hell, even Senko no Ronde sold like, 7000 its first week in Japan. The resounding message that went with that is that the US market doesn't give a fuck about 2D shooters. And the press kept bitching about the price, and everyone else kept bitching about the price... well... you know, shmups are full price when they come out in Japan. And shit, if you're retrocollecting then you're paying top dollar for imported shmups.
But yeah, US is getting straight fucked. Missing out on Otomedius, Raiden IV (which I doubt I'll like), Ketsui, DDP DOJ BL, Raiden Fighters Aces, etc. Shitty that the Japanese keep region locking this stuff too. Gah!
I do hope you guys get 'em eventually. And I do hope that Treasure shmup comes stateside. 360s aren't as reliable as Saturns... so playing ticking-time-bomb with an imported console is no fun. :frown:

That makes me sad. :( All of that, every single thing you just said. Makes. Me. Sad. :(
Can't believe it sold that bad, I should of bought like 5 copies, not that 2005 makes a big difference. :(

I bought Senko Day 1 myself, in fact I think JP was there when I bought it.
But I agree with the "press" on the price thing. Just because it's something that can sell for Top Dolla in Japan does not mean it can do the same thing in America. If you look at anime the same thing occurs. The companies that try to sell anime at the same prices as the Japanese have always failed because that is not how the American marketplace works. (See: Shopro, Bandai Visual, and Toei.)
Look at Ikaruga and Rez, two awesome games that dominate the XBLA. Senko should have been there too. I bet at a $10 price point and as a downloadable, it would have been huge. As a retail game, Senko was weird. Not only was it a shump, but it was 1v1 game at the same time. I guarantee you no one had any clue what to do with it, let along try to take a risk at $60. It's a niche of the niche. But on the XBLA and at $10? It would have been exciting, interesting, and a huge game.
Huge.
I'll always believe that.

Yah. I convinced you to buy it too. :p

Frog, LordSnarf, and myself have Sende no Ronde ... and even I don't have a 360. I still bought it and I bring it over to other peoples homes to play it.

I didn't buy it *runs away*
I would've picked it up if I'd had a 360 at the time. I'll still go back and hunt a copy down, but that won't help with numbers.
What's Otomedius?
It really is sad to consider all that we're missing out on. I'm still retaining a sliver of hope that someday, somehow I'll be able to play Ketsui.

There's a ray of hope with Ketsui, as 5PB has thrown around the term "worldwide" a bit.
