The entire package for the collection is superb. There are so many options its INSANE! You can play it as close to the arcade as possible I think.


There's also Expert Mode and Boss Rush Mode for each game (contains Raiden Fighters, Raiden Fighters 2, and Raiden Fighters Jet).

I do find it funny how I shot up the ranks on the shmups.com RFJ score board though. :lol: Almost up to #13/20-something, and this is my first time playing it for reals. :lol:

So... the little blue dragon which I thought was a joke ship is apparently the ultimate ship to play as in RF2 and RFJ.


Makes me wish it was in RF. 1CCs this weekend I'm sure. :p

Though I really don't like the scroing in RF or RF2. Way too convoluted.

I'm pretty envious of your skillz. This is probably my favorite genre, but I'm still stuck in 'admirer' territory. I don't think there's a game out there that I could make a passable attempt at playing for score on.

Check out Blast Wind. :nod: Its fun, and is very much a chill shmup. Though thats the case in general for all Tecno Soft shmups. Well... TFIV takes a lot of practice and is fairly rough, but everything else they did was pretty doable.

Though oddly enough, the game that helped me out the most with playing for score and keeping an eye on hit-boxes is Radiant Silvergun. Mind you, Radiant Silvergun is vicious and demands hours and hours and hours and hours of dedicated practice, but once it clicks everything else just gets a little bit easier. :)

Yeah, I did the other day actually. It's kind of.. eh.. fun for a bit. :p I got all the achievements on it except for the 185k... I was meaning to ask you about that. Do you need to play on insane to achieve that score? 'Cause I went through it all on normal without dying and was just over 150k. Probably just need to kill more guys.

Yeah, you pretty much have to play on Insane to get that score.
