After reading one of M2D's posts it just hit me why SEGA's taken Sonic in so many directions. Don't you see? By placing their beloved mascot in all kinds of irreverent situations they're trying to impart a deeply symbolic message to all of us...and that message is simply:

don't take things too seriously; enjoy yourself, laugh a little bit, and

JUST SMILE.

Its possible. If the games are fun, then they're fun. No matter how goofy the concepts are you can't change the gameplay.


The only problem is, its Sega. So... we shall see.

I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst ya know? Thats the only way to approach Sega anymore.

The Sonic games used to be a standard of excellence. An event when they were released. Now, Sega is whoring out its only asset to many systems through many developers in a last desperate struggle to cling to their former glory. Don't believe me? How many original games that are NOT Guilty Gear has Sammy released recently? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

maybe you are right about not taking sonic serious and just have fun with it but the games are not that fun so its kinda hard to :frown:

The symbolic message is supposed to be...
Sometimes we think we're Nintendo, and still hold sway over ravenous hordes of fans, allowing us to drag beloved mascots through mud just to see how loyal our fans really are.

'Aimless' is definitely the word for the series' direction lately...guess that's what happens sometimes when the flood hits and there's no more home to call your own...

but life's a real drag when you start to take certain things too seriously...so why not JUST SMILE everyone!

Nice, I can't remember the last time I had that many in a single sitting. My friend Tim and I used to get that 'family meal' at taco bell, and pound them away. That was highschool, so like 8 years. Damnit, now I want tacos.
