So how are people getting Japanese XBL accounts? I see people mention from time to time they DL demos off the JPN marketplace. But unlike the PS3 you don't get free accounts. So are people paying for a second JPN account? And how do you do this? Is an import system needed?

Na. Just make an XBL account using a Japanese address (which can be easily obtained on teh internet). Region of the console doesn't matter. I had a JP XBL account on my first 360 and use my US account on my JP360.

I did it a long time ago, but I think it requires you set the profile up with a Japanese e-mail linked to it. Does that sound right? I used some Yahoo e-mail which had an address in Japan registered to it.

Yeah, but you can do it easily on hotmail.

Yeah, what they said. Sign up for a hotmail account, put Japan as your country, and use a Japanese address and zip code (just look up your favorite developer's site and use their address).

Then when you sign up for an XBL account like normal using that email, it'll automatically be a Japanese account and you can download Japanese demos and such.

But unlike the PS3 you don't get free accounts.

What's that about? You can get the account for free. Unlike the PS3 though, the online play gets serviced. Reasons behind the price.
