Dimensions is a remake of classics R-Type and R-Type II, both mashed together in 2D and 3D flavors that can be switched between at will. With 14 stages, cooperative play, a new camera mode, plenty of game stats and the inclusion of checkpoint saves (woohoo!), R-Type Dimensions looks to be a winner. But before you commit to an XBLA purchase, know that Dimensions will cost you 1200http://www.blogcdn.com/xbox.joystiq.com/media/2009/01/msptpng.png. We're sure that will deter a few.

It looked cool to me, too. I'll pick it up at some point, I want it, but I say that about a lot of things and I'm pretty broke.

It's $15, darth.

It doesn't look bad by any means, but I'm not really wild about 3D graphic in place of 2D sprites, especially when the other enhancements seem fairly minimal. So I'll be taking a pass. Would be down for an all-new R-Type though, perhaps. Or a remake of one of the already 3D ones.

15 dollars for a shooter remake? No thanks. Not unless we are talking about Radiant Silvergun or something. XBLA is slowly becoming too damn expensive to care about. Even if this was a disc based release it wouldn't cost more than 20 bucks.

800 points is what this game should cost. It's a shame because some of these games are pricing themselves out of being a good seller. No one is gonna buy it beisdes the hardcore shooter fans, but they could get some casual gamer/impulse buy sales if they lowered the price.

I'll be very interested in getting this for sure, we'll see though.

I snagged it. If you like R-Type its pretty spiffy. Unfortunately, I've never been a big R-Type guy myself (was always more into Tecno Soft) so... whatever.

But, I would totally be down with some co-op at some point.
