Halo Wars demo tonight

2 am PST incase any night owls are up. I will be downloading this tomorrow while playing KZ2. Tomorrow will forever more be the unquestioned best demo day ever. 3 blockbusters all on the same day.

So I got to check this out a little bit this morning. Like a dumbass I forgot all about it so I was up for like 45 minutes before I remembered to dl it. The graphics are amazing, I have never seen this kind of detail and lighting effects in a RTS game. The cutscenes are really bad ass as well. Ensamble should be allowed to make a CGI Halo movie. The controls are super intuitive, it is funny that it was Halo that ended the PC domination of FPS, and it is Halo Wars that will do the same for RTS games. The first mission was kind of meh, not to much to do, but the second mission you get the abillity to build bases and such and then the game really shines. I love building huge armies in games like this, it is kind of like level grinding in JRPG's. I just love getting uber powerful and steam rolling over the CPU enemies.

It definitely will, I had played a few RTS in my life, and normally I think that they are pretty meh, but what I played of HW was great. I have no doubt that it is the best RTS ever made.

Tried it today. I'm not really an RTS fan, so this is useless to me, but it seems alright for a console RTS (based on what I've seen from Command & Conquer and Star Craft).

No one plays RTS games outside of the PC. I don't see this selling well at all, even if it is Halo. I'm predicting it's gonna sell around 250k.

Anyways, I played the tutorial. Does the camera angle irk anyone else? It just feels wrong. I wish I could adjust it. I mean, you can zoom in and out, but not the angle. Why not? Other than that, it seemed good. I need to play more to be form a better opinion though.

Those maps will be out later though, only the hardcore nutjobs will buy Halo Wars just to get those maps. Maybe 50k or so, add that in to the 200k other people who will buy the game because they want to play it, and then you have my sales prediction.

I still can't try the demo... I hit it up for download, it's only at 70 percent now. For some reason it's taking longer than any other download... ever for me. Not to mention I'm doing crazy hours at work, so I haven't even been able to toss Lost Odyssey back on yet...

By the end of next week, I'll be at 36 overtime hours. I just want to play some videogames :(

So I fished the campaign demo, and did a quick match. Then I let my sister play, she's a fan of age of empires, and she liked it too. This sucks. I was hoping this game wouldn't be that good, so I could put it down for later on in the year, but I should have known better. Ensemble just makes great shit. I was pissed of when it ended, and I loved the quick match, and now, Im thinking about it a lot, and I want to play more. :(

THis will sell more than most people expect.

1. It has the word Halo in its title.
2. It is an RTS made by Ensemble.
3. It is bundled with new Halo 3 maps.

These three reasons ensure total domination! I also anticipate DL records being broken for the demo.

Same here brother.... same here. Now I don't think I'll be going my normal Halo route of buying all versions. LE will do me just fine.


Halo CE - 3 copies: 1 Normal, 2 Platinum copies
Halo 2 - 3 copies: 1 Collectors opened, 1 Collectors sealed and one Normal sealed
Halo 2 Map Pack: 1 copy
Halo 3 - 3 copies:1 Normal, 1 Limited and one sealed Legendary

Oh do I have problems..... but these are problems I enjoy! :p

Oh and before anyoen asks... its for LAN party reasons... and yes I have the extra xbox systems to play three copies so THERE!!!!!!

Yeah I am on par with Newport in terms of Halo games and I don't even have them for LAN purposes. I do have three Xboxes (one modded).

I enjoyed the demo quiet a lot. It helps a lot that we are already familiar with the universe. I love that they kept the menus similar to the halo series

Its an awesome demo.

Even though Herzog Zwei is an amazing console RTS. Out of this gen's RTS's games on consoles ... this is how its done right.

C&C3 for the 360 is okay, but the camera was the main problem. This one it feels so right.

BUT ... I still can't wait for Starcraft 2. RTS can only be done on PC properly. I am happy that Halo Wars feels awesome though. I will be picking this up.
