I know that out of all the games I own, I'll never beat most of them. Should I feel bad about this? It's really fucking got to me lately, I feel like I have OCD or something.

I'm pretty good about beating the games, but completing them has become hard, which is something I always used to do.

So what's the real issue? You buy more than you can play or that you buy games compulsively, play them for an hour then move onto to something else?

I hardly ever finish games anymore.

Will I ever beat Fallout 3, Devil My Cry 4, Armored Core 4Answer, Infinite Undiscovery, etc. etc. etc.?

Who knows.

But I don't think its something to get depressed about. Life is life, sometimes you're just too busy to finish every single game.

yep, that's exactly what I do. I think it would take me a lifetime to beat all the games I own.

I've been trying to complete more games recently. I just beat Monster Lair on genesis, Bonks Adventure Remake on PS2 and am nearing completion of Killzone Liberation on PSP. But I have so many damn games I wanna complete, it's overwhelming.

back in the DC days when the games were getting cheaper I use to just buy games with my paycheck. I did not finish a lot of games on the DC, but I have gotten better about it. Now I only buy 1-2 games a month if even that. I have beat most the games on my 360 now.

Yep, I did the same thing. When the DC firesales started hitting and games were 19.99 and less I was buying 4-5 games per check. Most of my DC games I have played for an hour or less and never again. I think I own around 60. I was buying so many games I couldn't even concentrate on playing one for a long period of time. I have a lot of Japanese imports I paid full price for that I have barely touched too, since I was into buying those late released DC games just for collection purposes. Case in point, I have not played Ikaruga past the 2nd level.

It was much easier when I was a little kid, cause you'd only get a game a month normally, so you had plenty of time to beat it until you saved up allowance or begged your way into getting a new one from your parents.

It's nothing to be depressed about. I think it's actually really common, especially for gamers who have been around for a while. As we all get older, our priorities change, and you can't dedicate as much time as you used to. I think it's time to get depressed when you play a game you don't enjoy, just for the achievements. Or when you play games to avoid real life and seeing people (not talking about calling in sick for a day or skipping a party once or twice).

I have tons of games I've never finished, for every system I've owned since the NES. Sometimes I lose interest, sometimes I get interested in a new game, and sometimes time gets in the way and by the time I have a chance to get back to it, I'm lost and don't want to start over. I figure that as long as I've enjoyed the time I did put into the game, it was worth it.

Yeah, like I have owned Code Veronica on DC since it came out. Yet I only just beat it like 2 years ago. I was like 80% finished and just stopped playing it back in the day, it's kinda funny to me.

The XBOX was the first sytem that I bought a game for and did not finish, since then there have been tons. Lots of games are only worth a few minutes just to check them out. No force on Earth could make me finish crap like Mirriors Edge or Call of Duty WaW, fuck that.

I have a TON of xbox 1 games I have never finished. About the only games on that system that I finished were Halo 1 and 2 and Rallisport 2, and I own about 35 xbox 1 games. Back in the day I worked at an electronics store and made one of those "MSFT Online Training" accounts, and you could redeem the points from all the quizes for xbox games (MSFT game studio titles, Bungie stuff) and windows shit. Grand total I got about 15 xbox games, a Halo 2 shirt, and 2 copies of XP Pro (which I sold on ebay). The prize store got new releases too, so I basically never had to buy anything during those years.

I am a collector of sorts so I have a bunch of games and a bunch those are still sealed even and a bunch of the opened ones were only played for pretty short spans. Anywhere from 10 hours to 10 minutes. I have sealed copies of opened games... multiple copies of single games etc.

I am a nut! :p

That tattoo one is so sad... I'd get the tattoo butcher's gun and draw something fucked up on his arm. An eye for an eye, of sorts.

That tattoo makes her look like a pirate or like she's taking a dump. Wonder if the tattoo artist was stoned.

As for the topic on hand, sometimes it's better not to beat the games just because occasionally the second half/ending really sucks. I just think most adults have A.D.D. or are really busy with life. Nothing to be ashamed of. Fortunately for me, I almost always buy games with no story line/retarded story lines.

Kang I am right there with you.

WTF was I thinking getting a PS3? Just more games I will probably own and not finish. I started this problem with the DC and it ballooned on the Xbox and PS2. I still have a bunch of Xbox games I need to play (KOTOR II being one of them), but I beat KOTOR - amazing game. There are still a good 20 games on the Xbox I want to beat and now I am creating a large ass 360 backlog. No thanks to game sales, Circuit City going out of business (games are now 40% off - FUCK ME) and being an adult. Especially with an infant in the house. I started off doing pretty well on the 360, but of course once the game selection started getting larger and better there went that idea.

I am starting to almost completely forsake multiplayer gaming as the little time I have to play is usually after she goes to sleep and I have to wear my headphones. I had a nice pair of Turtle Beach X1's, but now the mic stopped working so there goes my online play. That makes me cry inside as I do so love playing online (especially co-op).

Since most of my gaming time now is offline it might let me finish off some more games' story modes, which is a good thing.

When I have free time, I usually socialize (i.e not at home), surf the net, listen to music, watch movies/tv, play games (in that order). So it's really fucking hard for me to get into a game. Recently I'll play a game in 20-30 minute sessions, save, and come back later. So I am trying to play multiple games so beating something takes time.

I mean I bought something like 25 PS2 games when I was in Japan last Feb., I've only beaten one (Bonk's Adventure) and I'm currently playing through Maximo, Armored Core 2 and a couple others. Haven't even touched the rest yet. The shit just freaks me out, cause in addition to that stuff, I have all my DC, xbox, PS3 and 360 games I own that I haven't beaten. The only 360 games I've played through are Halo 3, Gears, and GRAW. Everything else is a work in progress. I really didn't get into Gears 2 much, so don't know when I'll get back to that.

But soon I will be living and breathing Killzone 2, so I'm glad I'm actually excited over a game for once.

I didn't even go into my PS2 debacle. I bought one (that HawkClay now has) and I had a lot of great games for it. God of War, Shinobi, Shadow of the Colossus, Ico, MGS3, Transformers (the good Atari published one), Sly Cooper, Ratchet and Clank(actually beat that one), and on and on and on. Now I think I might have beat one or two PS2 games and I sold them all without even starting some of them past making sure they work. Of course that is fucking terrible.

What to know what is worse? Since I have some extra money right now I am contemplating getting a PS2 again. As I had to have a new PS3 and didn't want to risk getting a backward compatible one from ebay or buying a used one from one of the trading sites I am on, I have no BC. If I do that what will happen? More fucking backlog, especially since so many PS2 games can be had for cheap. I am such an

ASSHOLE!

I would wait on the PS2, there are a lot of rumors about PS2 BC being added through a fireware patch and Sony eventually putting PS2 games up on the PSN.

Yep, it's gonna happen (I think). I bought the MGS 3 pack and beat the first one on my PS3, but can't play the other two yet because my PS2 is japanese. If they don't announce the software emulation by this xmas, I'm gonna break down and buy a new slim. I think it would be sick if you could buy PS2 classics at a fair price over the PSN.

Well that would be sweet. Let's see how long we have to wait, what it costs (if anything) and how it works though. I would rather play the few games I want with no problems on a PS2 than have to worry about the software working right.

Also....I am not the most patient person in the world.

I still have 3 games I haven't opened yet, lol. It takes me forever to beat them, mostly cause I just don't get into gaming anymore. But I still buy them, cause then i'll have days like i had a few months ago, I beat 4 games in around 5/6 days, thats all I did all day for those days was play games, lol. So for me its nice having unbeaten games around, cause eventually i'll know i'll get to them...I think.

I'm down, I just still haven't gotten it yet though. :(

Also, I should say this to, that most definitely reminded me. It's far easier for me to play multiplayer than single player, i'd just rather be playing the game with someone. Which still mostly does nothing about beating the game, but you can still at least get your money's worth from many hours of multiplayer. :p
