A fellow writer on my blog brought to my attention that JGR was released ten years ago today! So, I made a special post about it here (http://lvls.wordpress.com/2010/06/29/jet-grind-radio-is-10-years-old-lets-celebrate/) to celebrate a grand game's anniversary. Share any JGR memories! It was a marvelous game that showed off the creative spark Sega once had very, very well.

Great game. Actually, I would have passed on it but my cousin didn't like it and let me have it.

thanks for the link....one of my favorites on dreamcast for sure..nothing else like it.
As for Future that game is actually fresh in my mind because my fiancee just cleared the game last week. Its a step below the first, but still possesses some great qualities.

Yeah Jet Grind Radio/Future was classic Sega. Like Crazy Taxi and others of its day a real gem of a game.
I have some time off coming and I plan on completing my "Game Center". Basically hooking up all my consoles using an old 27in CRT and a system selector in the spare room. :p
At which point I will most definitely throw in both games!

Oh man! Jet Grind Radio! That game was my FAVORITE Sega released U.S. game on the Dreamcast (import was Rez and favorite overall was NBA Showtime). I remember pre-ordering the game to get the Jet Grind Radio Music Sampler, and I listened to that thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!! It wasn't all JGR music, but it was still pretty awesome! As a matter of fact, I think I'll listen to it RIGHT NOW to get the mood right! :)
Now Playing: Dragula by Rob Zombie
That's better! :)
Yeah, I LOVE that game! I had just gotten my "career" job out of college, and I would be sitting at work anxiously awaiting getting home so I could play the game! I primarily played as Tab and Cube myself, as they seemed to "flow" the best. I also really liked how you could use the in game browser to go get any picture off the Internet and turn it into your graffiti tag! That made for some interesting tags! ]:)
Of course the soundtrack was awesome, and it played so much in making the game! It just OOZED with style! The artwork, the narrative, the character design, the music and the gameplay combined just made for a game that was totally fresh and original... and AWESOME! I remember being upset that it didn't sell better than it did, and I would get in such arguments over people not buying the game! I was a HUGE fan! Speaking of, probably the OLDEST POST you'll be able to find of mine on the Internet is "The Sega Scream: You all suck" over at IGN. It was about some of the great games that were out on the Dreamcast and how so many people were passing them up for other CRAP! My post just said, "If you don't buy Jet Grind Radio, then I hate you!" :) You can find it here:

On another, more depressing note, in mentioning Jet Grind Radio, I am reminded of ANOTHER one of the Dreamcast classics that I used to love more than ANYTHING! That game? Space Channel 5! I remember they both came out around the same time, because that's when Ulala and I started dating, and she was all into Space Channel 5, and both SC5 and JGR came with promotional soundtracks for the pre-orders (I loved them both). I looked up what the specific date was on Space Channel 5, and I was SHOCKED to see that it released on June 4, 2000... Which was Ulala's birthday AND the day before I started my job! *sigh* I know that shouldn't be an unhappy memory or anything, but those who know the full story understand.
So anyway, happy birthday Jet Grind Radio and Space Channel 5! June 2000 marked the peak of the Dreamcast greatness in my opinion, and it held up through Shenmue and Phantasy Star Online later that same year. 2000 was the end of an era. 2001 was still an alright year, but dang man... 2000 is hard to argue against!

I was there for the Dreamcast from the beginning, but then left the country right before Sonic Adventure 2 was coming out. I feel like I let them down. They were thinking, if only one more person would buy games, we'll stay in the console business.
Now you know the burden I bear!!!!
